Empowering Youth to Succeed: Succeeding at the 5th Core
This workshop will address how the District of Columbia Center for Independent Living, Inc. (DCCIL) started their youth transition services in 2013 and how the CIL collaborated with the DC Public Schools / DC Charter School System and The Designated State Entity (DSE) to implement the fifth core service (Transition) for Centers for Independent Living and fulfill RSA’s transition obligations under the Workforce Investment and Opportunity Act (WIOA) of 2014. We will review the challenges faced by our staffs as well as some of the success enjoyed.
